Teachers are winners at OETC!

“Better teaching through technology” was the theme of the 2019 Ohio Educational Technology Conference last month. Ohio Corn and Wheat-sponsored Feed the World had a booth at the conference and was able to introduce attendees to all that FTW has to offer.

Two teachers won Amazon gift cards in a drawing at the booth.

Krystal Kelley, New London Local Schools: “I teach 6-12 technology at New London, a rural area. We actually have an Ag program here which I am hoping to do some cross curricular lessons with next year. Our students are lucky to learn about Ag with Mrs. Riley, our Ag teacher. Since our school is pretty rural, I often try to teach students about the connection between technology and farming. For example, we just started a drone club and have talked about the benefits of drones and farming. Before working at New London, I did not even realize Ag was something students learned in school, but I am always impressed with the skills they are learning and the leadership role they take.”

Stephanie Laskey, Perry Local Schools: “I teach STEM to 7th and 8th grade students. I think students should learn and know about the impact agriculture has on our world, nation, and community. Ethanol, for example, is beneficial for the environment. I would love for my students to know more about the agriculture of NE Ohio.”
