Meet Alumni Educator Jeremy Grove

Jeremy Grove is in his fifth year of teaching AFNR, Animal and Plant Sciences, and Agronomic Systems at East Technical High School in Cleveland. He also advises the FFA chapter at his school. He particularly enjoys the moment when students who were in total confusion and disbelief finally understand a concept!

Why would you recommend the FTW resources to other educators?

The best thing about FTW is the network of teachers who have a strong passion to educate students and to find unique ways of doing so. The network of educators that has developed from FTW is constantly growing and each educator brings experiences and ideas that allow us to grow professionally.

What kind of outreach activities are you hoping to do as an FTW alumni educator?

I certainly would like to be able to expose more urban educators to Ohio agriculture.

If you could develop the perfect crop, what would you develop?

I would absolutely love to develop a variety of popcorn that allows the kernels to “pop” right on the plant. Who wouldn’t enjoy popcorn-on-the-cob?!?
